These lands and waters contain sites of deep cultural, historical and spiritual significance.<br><br>This website has been established to provide information about the proposed Ngurai-Illum Wurrung Native Title Determination Application and to assist descendants, families and community members remain informed throughout the preparation of the claim.<br><br>The proposed application is being developed from historical, anthropological, genealogical and community evidence. It draws upon independent expert material, historical records and, most importantly, the knowledge and continuing cultural identity of Ngurai-Illum Wurrung descendants.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-accent-4-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-4 wp-container-content-9cfa9a5a wp-block-paragraph\">The proposed claim group is presently based upon descendants of the recognised Ngurai-Illum Wurrung ancestors:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-accent-4-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5 wp-container-content-9cfa9a5a wp-block-paragraph\">King Charles Tattambo;<br>Nelson (Tro-Bullock); and<br>Tooterrie<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-accent-4-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6 wp-container-content-9cfa9a5a wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Through family, kinship, responsibility to country, cultural practice and the passing of knowledge from one generation to the next, Ngurai Illum Wurrung families have continued to maintain connection with their ancestors and traditional country despite the disruption caused by colonisation, dispossession and removal.<br><br>This website will provide updates about the proposed application, meetings, notices and important events.
